How it works (a brief overview):
We have
thoroughly researched each Urban Challenge Location and
divide the game area into a number of ‘Sectors’. Each sector
contains a range of challenges and tasks to be attempted.
Points are given for each task correctly completed with some
sectors scoring more highly than others. Points awarded for
each sector vary depending on the complexity of the
challenges contained within that sector and it’s proximity
to the central game location. Decision making will therefore
play an important role throughout the duration of the game.
Each Urban
Challenge can start and/or finish at a variety of locations
and venues. Office, conference venue, hotel, pub,
restaurants etc.
We start the
activity with a group briefing at the chosen location and
split your group into teams. (Teams of between 4 – 6 is
usual but we liaise with you before hand with regards to
numbers and desired game format)
Teams are
given a game pack with maps, compass and instructions and
are briefed on some of the important elements of the game
regarding safety, timings and rules.
Teams then
depart in order to attempt as many challenges as possible
within the given time, checking in with game marshals and
instructors at various strategic check points and activity
venues throughout the challenge area.
Teams
reconvene at the given finishing location in order to
calculate final scores and announce winners.
