The Urban Adventure Challenge can be run with a variety of different optional additional physical elements. Every town or city is different and some locations have more options available than others due to their geographic location.
Involving the use of a hand held GPS receivers to find hidden checkpoints, clues or caches. The unit is pre-programmed with a number of different co-ordinates for teams to locate by following the directions on the GPS screen. Geo-caching requires good planning and decision-making skills in order to locate each cache in a logical and efficient order.
This activity is extremely versatile and can be tailored in a variety of different ways and for different locations. We can set up a bespoke Geo-caching Challenge in most areas including city centres, countryside areas and suitable hotel or conference venue’s grounds.
These games and challenges involve the whole team and possibly require co-operating with other teams in your group in order to score points for the team.
By including a wide range of games, challenges and tasks we are able to develop skills such as communication, trust and teamwork. These activities are beneficial, rewarding and a lot of fun. Many of the games can also be run indoors if required.
This is our unique urban orienteering challenge undertaken either on foot, by mountain bike or boat. The more checkpoints you find the higher the teams score!
Teams (or selected team members) must resort to peddle power in order to navigate around an orienteering type course in order to find a series of checkpoints. Bikes, helmets and water bottles will be provided as well as full instruction. We generally utilise open spaces, parks or interesting areas of a city centre for this particular activity.
These challenges can include a canoe, kayak, bell boat (similar to a dragon boat), punting or rowing challenge. These will involve teams going out onto the water in a variety of different craft in order to attempt various tasks and challenges. These could include games, races, time trials or a boat orienteering challenge. All water based challenges are location specific with some locations better placed to include them than others.
These challenges require dedicated teamwork to get one or all team members up or down a cliff face, building or climbing wall.
Although very much location specific we make use of artificial climbing walls, natural cliffs or can even consider the possibility of using a building for abseiling down (possibly your own offices) provided we can gain permission.
For any climbing or abseiling challenge we provide you with all the equipment and instruction needed. No previous experience is necessary and this highly rewarding and fun activity is suitable for all ages, abilities and fitness levels.
Our Bristol Urban Adventure Challenge makes use of the fabulous Avon Gorge which is only located about 2 miles from the city centre, one of the closest natural climbing venues to any city in the UK.
